What about A-model ?

Looking for some different things to built i found lots of kits from this russian (?) brand, that have a large choise of “never seen subject” on others famous brands.

here a link of some product http://www.aviapress.com/viewproducer.htm?AMO

in mind to buy some (ka-18 helicoptes, yak-28 or some other strange fliyning thing) for a speed built between too many messed up builds that i’m doing [:S]

someone already built something??

no one knows out europe [*-)] …

I have some Amodel kits, the older ones are very basic short-run kits. The newer ones are still short run but better. If you build a Amodel kit be prepared to doe a lot of test fitting, puttying and sanding. As a return you get a model very few people have on their shelves.

uh!! i ordered the two kits named above… from some review online seems not to bad. … then i’ll prepare to other troubles. [:(] aargh

I’ve built their HUP-1, it was a lot of work, many of the small parts practically had to be carved from the sprue but I was happy with how it came out. There was almost no interior so I had to make one up from spare parts and scratchbuilding. The clear parts were very thick and cloudy, but a dip in future and some buffing made them reasonably decent. I have some of their more recent kits and they are better, but still look a lot of work.

Aaronw very nice modell!!! as i speak this brand made unusual (and nice for me) subject , like this, without use vacuform or resin kits ! About decals??

that’s great! [:D]

I’m waiting the two a-modell subject with 4 airfix kits at very low price (each airfix kit 3.00 €)

Yes, great looking chopper Aaron!

I have their 1/72nd scale Er-2 Second World War Soviet bomber. The molding is good and clean with no flash. Unlike some limited run plastic kit like Czech Model and Azur there are no resin or PE parts. The canopy parts are clear and packed in a separate plastic bag. The instructions seem easy to understand and have four different paint schemes. The decals don’t look very good though and may have to be replaced.

Overall the kit looks good though since I have not put it together I have no idea how well it fits. I haven’t seen any of their helicopter kits but if they’re as good as this kit they should make a very nice model.

Great!!! Er-2 was on wishlist!!! Have two or more types on a-model catalog, I would choose the one in this review

Some picture of Er-2 finished [:^)] ?

Cool, that’s the same kit as mine. Sorry at the rate I build she won’t get to building her in some years and I haven’t seen anyone else build one up. If you buy one and finish her or any of their helicopter models please post them here, I’d love to see them. It might motivate me into getting to mine. [;)]

Surely i’ll post all wips from this brand… when i’ll get something. Actually waiting from an online shop reply that have a good catalog about this brand. Lots of interensting pieces , over the er-2 they have the giant mi-10 harke at good price!!! http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/amo/kit_amodel_72163.shtml

Wow, the Mi-10K is awesome. The Soviets had some really nice looking and interesting aircraft. Thanks for posting it, I’d pick one up if I didn’t have such a pile of unbuilt models I’m trying to stop buying them till my building catches up at least a little.

aargh!!! i found a shop in ukraine that can ship me the beast at 60 $, 41 €… (total cost) [bnghead] x5

i don’t have credit card! [:'(]

just arrived the yak-28r and kamov ka-18 [<:o)]

soon some detailed pictures but apparently kits are good !

the kamov is a jeweller affair! it’s a very little thing!

bsyamato- glad you’ve got a favorable first impression of A-model. I bought their 1/72 Gee Bee R-1 several months ago. I haven’t started it, but like you from what I see in the box it’s a nice little kit…and I do mean little! It’s very tiny, like your kits. I did read a post on another forum (don’t remember which) from someone who did build the Gee Bee and the review was favorable.

Oh. sounds cool guys!

If not wrong i see one buided here in a gb abot race planes [:)] i like the gee bee but for nowout of target (they have even the acrobatic su-26 )… and yes … i confirm, one of two kit are a very little pretty thing:

heres the ka-18

[![Photobucket|324x276](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/KA-18 72 amodel/100_2949.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/KA-18 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2949.jpg)

[![Photobucket|322x194](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/KA-18 72 amodel/100_2952.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/KA-18 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2952.jpg)

the little kamov sure is the best of the kits delivered today (the others are the yak from amodel and four airfix kit founded between low-cost offers of the vendor, each kit 3€), lots of pieces he have, most for the intricate coaxial rotor [:D] Lots of flashes on the pieces but nothing that can fear an averaged modeller.

the fuselage is not so tiny but i like it

[![Photobucket|364x313](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/KA-18 72 amodel/100_2950.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/KA-18 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2950.jpg)

speed fuselage test fitting is not so good but these kits are surely not for beginers, offers a good base for never realized subject and good alternative to resin or vacuform kits.

i’m not expected from it a tamiya kit quality, but surely prefer this at the others airfix kits arrived ( westland scout that comes in a box smaler that the inside kit sprues,as result rotor head was broken, viggen, super etendard and a mig-23)

[![Photobucket|372x187](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/KA-18 72 amodel/100_2953.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/KA-18 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2953.jpg)

clear parts are not too bad. i’ll try to start the wip ASAP on the helicopter section for final critics, but i rate this kit as a good challenge and love the ka-18 shapes (remind me my father old fiat 500 giardinetta from '68)

then… the not good note

the yak 28r comes with a large number of parts but, it’s another planet…

[![Photobucket|413x273](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_2954.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2954.jpg)

[![Photobucket|408x313](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_2959.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2959.jpg)

one clear part came out of sprue

[![Photobucket|447x584](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_2958.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2958.jpg)

one of two engines

[![Photobucket|430x209](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_2957.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2957.jpg)

the fuselage, i choised this version for the large clear nose and for the camouflage, instead of usually NMF

It’s a sort of little awacs\recce version ,need to learn abou but instruction says that one of two units that decals allows was used in afganistan war.

then… the yak it’s almost a short run kit, the fuselage (and others parts) comes without pin marks [:S]

but have three or more bulkheads

[![Photobucket|463x198](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_2961.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2961.jpg)

[![Photobucket|461x238](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_2960.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2960.jpg)

instead of all four airfix kits this have an acceptable ip

[![Photobucket|430x295](http://i405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/100_2956.jpg)](http://s405.photobucket.com/albums/pp139/bsyamato/modellismo/yak-28r 72 amodel/?action=view&current=100_2956.jpg)

decals for both kits are few but nicely printed . need to try on the model to speak if amodel decals are really good (i’m sure better than academy [whstl] )

Yak will need lots of work , fortunately the web is plenty of references for this plane.

that’s all for first amodel encounter [:)]

Yes, I’m doing a Gee Bee in the Air Racer Round 2 GB [H] but anyway…

Thanks for the look at the new kits. The Ka-18 looks very interesting, and small [Y]

[Y] i’ll try to take a look there

taken by the impetus to see the little microscopic kamov finished i started it and posted first pics of wip in helicopter section, and even on this kit some piece need to be “carved” from sprue [:P]

i can’t wait to see it finished!
