What a week this has been.

Berny,
it’s time’s like this i think “better you than me” [:)]
no actually i (try to) think “thank God nothing really bad happened”.

i know it’s cold comfort, but material things can be replaced.
when i was a college student and had an off road (one car)accident on a patch of ice, i mustered up my courage to report this to Dad. his response:
“are you ok” (other than nerves, yes)
“was anyone else involved or hurt” (thankfully no)
“how’s the car” (not so good)
to which he responded cheerfully “well, if you can still drive it, bring it down to the store and i’ll take a look at it”

i could never understand afterward why i had been so surprised at his reaction. ever since, i have tried to apply the same kind of criteria (sometimes it is HARD!)
but as a wise person once said
“Don’t sweat the little (stuff). And it’s ALL little (stuff)” [;)]

someday you’ll look back on this and laugh.
hope it’s soon. [:D]

just avoid that deadly tactical mistake:
saying a) “well what else could possibly go wrong?”
or b) “things couldn’t possibly get worse”
never tempt ‘fate’.

good luck, Berny.
sounds like the wheel has already started to turn.
you’ll be back on top in no time.

I just read in todays newspaper where a 17 year old kid, involved in a hit and run, had his two year probation revoked plus an additional four years added on. He was fined $500 plus 1,500 hours of community service. He will not be allowed to get his drivers license until he is twenty one. I wonder if it is the same kid that hit the Jeep?

justice is rarely that swift.
but we can hope.

Gee, Ya think???[}:)]

Sounds like he got what he deserves. Dollars to donuts he’s driving again SOON.[:(]

Everyonce in a while around here you read about somebody who’s had problems with their drivers license since they were teenagers. They usually wind up killing somebody and sometimes themselves. And a records check will find that they hadn’t had a valid license in______ (insert double digit # here) years. Sad, so Sad.[:(]

Berny, I should have kept my big mouth shut! [8] I logged off shortly after posting my earlier message. When I got online again, my computer had been infected by a variant of both the Blaster worm and the SoBig worm as well. Three days later, after a five hour tech consult on the phone, I debugged my computer, upgraded all the patches and programming additions, and as I was closing out, someone tried to slip a Trojan Horse bug into my system. I’ll never say another smart*** thing about someone else’s misfortunes again[:)]
I know what happens when you do that! [B)][B)][B)] [xx(]

Keyworth. I hope my bad luck didn’t transfer to you. You are not the only one having computer problems. The base pharmacy was down yesterday due to a conputer virus.

That is why I update my virus program weekly. I also have a firewall installed on my system. There are a lot of sick people out there that think it is funny to cause systems worldwide to shut down.

I sure hope your system is up and running OK now.

The bright side is that you and yours are in one piece and in good health.
Just remember:
A. Murphy’s First Law of Combat - S**t happens
B. Your mother told you there would be days (or weeks) like this - she just didn’t tell you there would be so darned many of them so darned close together
C. Cheer up, things could be worse - so you cheer up and things do get worse.
