Friday morning I turned on my computer and the monitor picture started shrinking. Then it went completely blank. So I figured it was time to get a new one. That afternoon a package arrives containing my 1/32 scale F-105D. When I opened the shipping box (a big one at that), the kit box looked like an elephant had stepped on one corner. [:0] I opened it and found a lot of plastic confetti. I called the company I had ordered it from and was told to return it and they would send me a replacement.
Saturday, the wife and daughter go shopping for baby clothing. I was getting ready to go shopping for a new monitor when the wife calls and informs me someone had hit her Jeep when it was parked at the mall. Thinking it was a small dent or scratch I head over to the mall to look at it. When I get there the police and mall security are around her and the Jeep. The left rear quarter panel, left rear door and drivers side door all caved in, windows broken and rear fender shoved against the rear tire, which is flat. I asked who hit the Jeep and was told there were no witness to the accident. [:(!]
Sunday, working on a model in my hide a way, I hear the wife calling me. I go into the kitchen and she informs me the sink is leaking. I tell her to get it to stop, just dont use it. I go back to finish up what I was doing and then go back and tighten the nut to the sink drain. By now the wife isn’t talking to me and I have to fix my own dinner. [V]
Monday, the wife informs me she is using my truck to go to work, leaving me with no transporation. I call the insurance company and am told I am authorized a rental car. [^] That afternoon they deliver a 2004 red Mustang convertible. Trying to figure out which was more important, a new monitor or getting the F-105 shipped off, I headed off to the post office. They were closed due to an electrical failure. [:(!]
This morning, the wife says she likes the Mustang better than my 1999 Silverado 1500 and is driving it to work from now on. I go to the post office and ship off the F–105, buy a new monitor and finally something good is happening. [:)]
This afternoon, the insurance tells me it will cost $3,800 to fix the Jeep. Of that, I have to pay $250.00. It is only a little over a year old.
Please don’t let the rest of the week be like the last five days.[xx(][xx(][xx(][xx(][xx(]
I feel yer pain! Bad things do seem to come in waves. Hang in there. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel(that is if budget cuts haven’t turned it off).
Sorry that it’s been a rough one for you Berny, I’m sure things will get better now. At least no one got hurt in your Jeep. [:)] Sled71 said it best, someone out there has it worse than you or I and sadly that’s a reminder of things aren’t always as bad as they seem. Hang in there. [;)]

I had a week like that a few months back, the guys are right. It can only get better!
Take comfort in the fact that you are not alone and some of us know how you feel.
A long time from now, you will laugh about it. I promise.
Berny I feel for you but be glad in the fact that my week was indeed worse than yours. I’m not going to go into it here but I 'd have loved to have had a week like yours [:p].
Thanks for the uplift guys. I was notified by my insurance company today that they found the person responsible for the Jeep accident. A 17 year old boy used his mothers SUV (He had his drivers licance suspended at the time of the accident). He tried to hide the damage from his mother and she found the damaged SUV Monday. She reported it and it wasn’t long before the police added things up. The boy will go before the Judge today. Her insurance will pay 100% of the costs.
Now if only I could get the F-105 delivered to me soon.
Hey Bernie, look on the bright side.
You can afford a computer and a hobby that can get expensive, your Jeep is insured, the sink was an easy fix and there is power at your house.[:)]
Most important, your family was in the mall not the Jeep.
We posted at the same time. Glad they found out who hit your jeep. Figures, it would be a kid who hit and ran. I learned when I was a teenager. Parents always find out!!!
I don’t think so Tommy. She likes her Jeep. We can get all six Grandmunsters in it at the same time. I don’t think she could do that with a Mustang. She is already complaining that the Mustang is too small.
See Berny, things are looking up already. [:)] I hope that silly 17 year old punk gets a lesson he’ll never forget. [}:)] I feel sorry for his parents. At least the owners had insurance, unlike the jerk who hit me recently. [V]

Berny, I started to say that adversity makes you stronger, but it looks like things went your way in the end. I wouldn’t recommend that type of object lesson every week, though.[B)][:(]
Things could be worse. It could happen to me!!![:D][:D][:D]
