West Houston CAF show

The West Houston Squadron of the CAF is hosting an open house at the West Houston Airport April 22-23 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Several WWII aircraft will be on display along with a number of military ground units. For details check www.westhoustonsqdn.org . If anyone would like walkaround pics of a unit they indicate will be on exhibit please let me know of specific requests. I’ll do my best to get some decent shots. You may post here or contact me at mackprice@houston.rr.com .

[tup] I’ve seen most of these aircraft flying over my house here in Katy on a routine basis. It’s been a while since I saw the Helldiver, but I remember a couple of years ago when they had just finished restoration work on that bird. I was at my son’s football game and I heard the unmistakable sound of a WWII AC engine, I looked up from my pacing up-and-down the sidelines (I was a volunteer coach), and saw the also unmistakable Helldiver flying right over head at maybe 1000 feet (could have been higher or lower, how was I really to know?) That was soon after I had finished my Pro-Modeler Helldiver, so it was really cool to see one flying in person.[:D]
