west honda pons RC211V

I am half way through completing a Tamiya Honda RC211V with studio 27 aftermarket decals, in the honda pons ‘west’ livery from late 2002 and need some photos of the bike (close up or in action). especially around the exhaust pipe silencer area (I don’t think the west bikes had carbon fiber silencers).
Any help would be great.

Yup…you’re right. Actually throughout the whole season of 2002/2003, non of the RC211 is using carbon silencer. I have quite a numbers of close-up shot of these machines taken during Malaysian GP, unfortunately I haven’t scan it as my scanner has broken down. Will upload the photo once i get hold of my friend’s scanner.

Does this mean the Tamiya kit is incorrect in supplying carbon fiber decals for the silencers? It would be great if you could upload some pictures.

Hi,
I can’t say Tamiya is providing wrong info. Some of the test version (pre-season) is using the carbon pipe. Even the part no. D10 is not the exactly the same as race version. Hope Tamiya or others aftermarket upgrade parts manufacturer will produce the silencerless version of exhaust system which some RC211 is using toward end of 2003. It make the bike look more fierce! The live sound of the exhaust is even unbelievable.
