Has anyone seen any decals for West Coast USMC Harriers and Cobras in 1/48? I know that TwoBobs Graphics has decals, but those are of East Coast squadrons.
Technically, there are no ‘west coast’ Harriers. The “west coast” squadrons (VMA 211, 214, 311, and 513) are all at MCAS Yuma. TwoBobs makes a sheet with 311 markings and just based on the ‘popularity’ of 214, I’m sure someone makes decals for their lawn darts.
As far as the skids go, HMLA 167, 267, 367, and 369 are there, in addition to the skid RAG, HMT-303. MAG-46 Det A also has HMLA-775, a reserve sqd there.
Odds alone should dictate finding some of those decals…at least now, you have all the numbers to go search for.
MattP: Thanks for the update on 311 and TwoBobs! I know all about Yuma…my first duty station supporting Harriers for 3 years. Also supported 311 on my MEU and the rest of MAG-13 for OIF.
You’re right on for the Pendleton “Skids” except that 167 is a New River squadron. HMLA-169 is of Pendleton.
