looking good! How is the set for a first time PE? I havent tried pe yet, I already have this kit, maybe I could try it out. Aber yes?
Wow, what a great build. Its really looking sharp. Is this DML wespe?
Also, I think you did a phenominal job with your P.E. set.
[:)]
Edit: No wait, that cant be DML, its cream colored either being Tamiya or Maquette.

The pe looks awesome! Thise clamps are something else. I liked the Wespe so much I bought another. It’ll be better this time though. [;)]
Really looking good! I agree, those clamp really look great.
Looking good! Can’t wait to see it finished.
Nice work there. Keep it up and post more as progress happens.

Cheers for the comments, yes it’s the Tamiya kit with Aber PE, Jordi barrel and Moskit exaust plus Modelkasten tracks, I’ve nearly finished one of tracks.
The Aber set is great, lots of detail but very small, you have to watch you don’t lose to many bits, I lost 3 or 4 pieces and completely stuffed up one clamp which I ended up throwing out, there are enough spare parts with the set to get away with it though.
I’ll probably end up using between 80 and 90% of the PE by the time I’m done, don’t feel like you have to use it all.
A couple of tips I picked up while building it is to glue each part of the clamp around the tools which makes them much easier to assemble but non workable, double check the instructions, it can be hard to tell where some bits go, and make sure you use the correct bits to build the clamps as some of them look very similar and the numbers are so close it is hard to tell if you have the correct part.
very very very nice build… excellent job on the PE… keep us posted on this one
molenz, thanks for the tips!
I see no disadvantage to that. [;)]
Looking real good!
Excellent workmanship Lyle! The PE is some of the cleanest I’ve seen in some time. Semper Fi, Mike
Wow that’s great. Keep up the good work.
looking good molenz!
Dave
looks good. The breech and gun look great! Did the Jordi barrel come witht he muzzle brake attatched?
[:D] Great work!. [;)] I love the details with PE

Thanks for the comments, I have since added grab handles and am about half way through the other armoured shield. I’ll post another pic when the upper hull is complete.
The JR barrel came with a separate cast muzzle break which was a real pain to clean up, I had to add Tamiya putty to smooth it out where it’s joined to the barrel as well as drill it out a slightly.
I have an Aber barrel for a Jagdpanther and with it’s turned muzzle break it is far superior to the Jordi offerings.
That does look good. I have a couple questions that are no-brainers for other people, but please enlighten me. Who is the manufactorer of the kit? And were the gold colored parts scratch built, AM, or did they come with the kit? And what is PE?
It’s the Tamiya kit with Aber PE (photo etch, thats the brass bits).
