Well, Bob let the cat out of the bag this afternoon, but he’s putting out two new AH-64 decal sheets in 48th scale. The first to be released is “Iron City Apaches”, which highlights the 1-104th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
I for one am looking forward to this sheet so I can finally build MY helicopter (or the one I think is mine, it actually belongs to my crew chief). Some great markings on there!
Question Jon, does your “Walk-around” book have photo’s of your bird or others to make an accurate model? Sorry I can’t remember for sure. Also anybody doing AM resin for A’s and D’s?
The Walkaround does not have any Pennsylvania birds in it, but I can hook you up with refs if you need em. As far as aftermarket goes, the only thing you’ll need is a piece of .035" styrene rod to do the HF “towel rack” antenna" and a set of the aft AVR-2A laser detectors. Dr. Pepper Resins did a set of AVRs for the Hasegawa kit a few years ago, and I know Cobra Company has 48th scale AVRs as well.
I am working on an upgrade for Block 2 AH-64Ds that will be cast in resin, but I have another project that I’m mastering first.
Thanks Jon, just want to make sure I get all the lumps and bumps right. I will be ordering those decals as soon as they are available. Got a Hasagawa A and D in my stash, just been waiting on some decent decals
