finally got clear plastic lenses for my AFV M41. countersunk even. used that trick mentioned here not too long ago. heated plastic, still had the case my amd 2200+ came in, warmed it up, poked the tip of a small brush thru ,and there it was. didn’t take more than 30min. had the tv on, so distraction, yanno[:D]. looks better than what i usually do. white glue to look like lit lights. hmm…just might do it with my tamyia M41
Warmonger,
Glad it worked out. I thought it was worth posting - it is so simple !
For anybody who didn’t see it, this is what we are talking about

Yeah, I’m going to use this to make those “flypans” he mentioned in the last panel. Great technique, though, and sure to save me money on those after market lenses. Thanks for sharing.
Great itp thanks for sharing, easy yet effective.
Sounds great!
thanks,
Ron
See, …it’s catching.
Wish I had thought of it.
Slightly off topic:
I was looking at the site yellowjacket posted (thanks for it), and reading about making weld seams. Anybody have an idea what is meant by “nitro thinner”?? Is he talking about lacquer thinner, by chance?
Thanks
Excellent tip for lenses…I’m gonna have to try this one.
