Well, I purchased an Iwata

My buddy Chuck shot me an email and told me to check out an Eclipse on Ebay, so I checked it out and I bought an Iwata Eclipse CS used for a Buy it now price of $30 plus $3 shipping. [tup]
You can’t beat that price huh? [(-D]

Mike

Mighty good price right there. I’d love to run across a similar deal. Jeez, I’m jealous.

Of course now, I’m looking forward to a full side by side comparison with pics!!

Way to go Mike!

Welcome to the “Brotherhood of Iwata” Mike.[#welcome][bow] You will be amazed what that little gadger can do.

Just out of curiosity, I have an Iwata HP-BC2 that I love that’s over 20 years old. I don’t remember what I paid for it, I had a disposable income back then so I’m sure it wasn’t cheap. How expensive are these getting right now compared to others, and more important how is their customer service?

The HP-BC2 is selling for $169 from Dixie Art right now.
I don’t know much about Iwata’s customer service.

Mike

MikeV, I’m actually shocked! Never thought you would touch an Iwata brush! I see our mission has been accomplished. No really, great choice…the HP-CS has set a new standard in the industry and among modelers IMHO. In the end your models will bear the truth.

OH…MY…GOODNESS!!! mikeV with an iwata!!! .

sorry fellows, i fainted and just now regained my senses. thats a purchase you wont
regret my friend. i love mine. are you gonna give it an honest to goodness review are
one that is biased? cant wait to hear what you have to say about it my friend…i think.
later.

well, once you use it, you can give me all your badgers [;)]

hope you enjoy, really.

I knew I would never hear the end of this. [(-D]

I will give it a fair shot Chris. Even if I do end up thinking it is better than my Badgers and Thayer & Chandlers I still will not stop using them as they spray exactly the way I want them to and I am very used to them after all these years.
I had to order an Iwata male quick connect from Badger today so that I can try this thing out with my Badger quick connect hose when I get it.

plasticmod992,

The price was right and I am always hearing all of the praises about the Iwatas so I figured I better give one a try. I am kind of like Chris anyhow in that I like to collect airbrushes, even if I don’t use them all that much. [;)]

1337,

There is no way I am giving up my Badgers. They are like old friends. [:D] [;)]

Mike

careful with that adapter mike, mine ended up leaking quite profusely after just a couple of uses. i thread taped the dog out of it and it quit, but i had to retape it if i got above 25psi or so. it acted like it was cross threaded but i could’ve swore it wasn’t. anyway, im sure your not the bonehead i am when it comes to things like that. have fun and keep us posted when it gets set up!! later.

Chris,

You have the Badger quick connects on your Iwata also, or are you referring to something else?

Mike

Consider the purchase a no-risk trial.

If you get the airbrush and it’s in good working order, and you decide you don’t like it…I’ll be glad to take it off your hands for what you paid for it!

[8D]

my bad mike, i have a badger hose without the quick connect. i bought an adapter just so i could screw my iwata to a badger hose when i first purchased the hp-c so i could use it when i came. thats what im refering to. now, i have the iwata hose with all iwata quick connects. later.

Saltydog, I was also shocked and speechlees when I read what MikeV posted. But I am happy for him that he is now entering a new meaning of airbrushing.

Not to offend other airbrushers coz am also using badger and tamiya airbrush.

Hey Mike, that not a “good deal”, thats a “steal”. I was wondering if they also have a HP-BS?

No, but she did have an Iwata HP-B that sold for $25. [:D]

MikeV, blessed is the man who truly believe in the Iwata (convert) religion.[(-D][(-D][(-D]

MikeV, Its great for you guys that you have a lot on sourcing for your airbrushing needs but in our country, we have limited stock on airbrushes BRAND and MODELS! In fact I bought my badger 155 at tower hobbies and the airfreight cost me more than the airbrush. [|(]

hey mike, what about that hp-b? if you dont like it/dont need it/like badgers more [:)] then you can sell it to me… i ALWAYS need more airbrushes

sigman, if im not mistaken, i think tamiya airbrushes are made by iwata as well. in effect, you may have 2 iwata’s. later.

I didn’t purchase the HP-B. Someone else bought that one. Sorry.

Mike
