Well I finally finished it and here it is.

Well guys here is the Ersatz M10 that I have been working on. It was a challenge to say the least. The CMK kit was very tough to deal with also the Fruil tracks were rather interesting. I had never worked with Fruils before and it took a while to get me a system down. wasnt sure of how many links to use per side. Is there any kind of site or book that tells this info for working with Fruils? anyway here are some photos.

Also on the bench:

Tamiya 1/48 Me 262

Dragon 1/35 Sherman Firefly

Wow it looks great and really cool. I never built that kit but now I want to. You did a get job! Congrads.

I remember this project. I’d really want to see some closer pics if possible tofurther enjoy your work.

That’s really something. In Citizen Soldier there is a picture of one and I always wanted to see more than the view in the pic. It would have been nice for some of those to have really been US vehicles, not just a ruse.

Looks great! I agree, I want closer pics!

I think you would benefit yourself and all of us if you went to Wal Mart, spent a dollar on some poster board (preferably a neutral color) set your tank on it and take some pictures that are clear and close up. This is a kit that doesn’t show up here very often, so we’re interested buddy…

Steve

Man I’d love to see a few closeup shots of this project. As said above, we don’t get to see too many of these actually finished up.

[:D] Me too!

You ought to set the tank on it’s tracks [;)] so that all the slack hanging off the bottom will transfer to the top run and possibly give the correct track sag.
M-10’s had “live tracks” while the panther had “dead tracks”.

Steve

Looks like a good clean & crisp build. Nice job! Also, your workbench looks just as cluttered as mine does.[:)]

I thought his work bench was orderly.

Looks good from what I can see. Looks like you got the turret roof plugged properly. It is a tough convertion. [tup]

Thanks for the compliments guys. If you can tell what exactly you would like to see close ups of I will try to make some more photos. Still learning the whole photo thing anyway and need practice.

And yes the work bench is cluttered but I know where everything is, I think. LOL

Now that I think of this conversion I also did awhile back, I’m curious about a couple of things. Did you have problems getting the front plate to fit over the machine gun mount? I sure did. Also getting the back plate to fit over the upper tow points was a big challenge too. Again, good job on a tough conversion!

Matt

I did have the same problems. I ended up deleting the machine gun all together and just building it as a closed up port. I actually broke the rear plate trying to fit it.

Yes, I took a Dremel tool to both ends to solve the fit! [;)]
