Hello everyone.
I am in need of help. I am currently deployed to the Balkans. I was able to get some of my kits and paints sent to me from home. I need some help on how to weather my armor kits with just five paints. I have black, brown, green, gunmetal, and steel. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.
Hi Michael. I’m not sure what your building, but the black and brown mixed with turp can be used for a wash. The steel can be drybrushed around the parts of tracks that see wear. Also on the teeth of the drive sprocket and rims of the road wheels. Gunmetal and steel can be used to drybrush machineguns. First paint it flat black then drybrush with gunmetal. I’m not sure about the green. Is it Olivedrab?

Michael, if you need a couple of paints to complete your model, let me know, I can send you some. It’s not going to break the bank, I assure you. Did it already for my brother-in-law who was there not too long ago…

Tigerman the green is ModelMasters Dark Green.
Right now I am working on a M1A1 (HA) and an M2A2 in 1/72 scale from Revell. I am building a diorama of some of the vehicles we have in country yet.
I will experiment and let you everyone know how it turns out.

Michael, if your using acrylics, you have to thin them down with distilled water or alcohol, not turpentine or mineral spirits. Hope I’m not too late.

If you want to get some supplies talk to the Albanians or Serbs, they can go out and get you the stuff you want, there is a lot of things in the Bondsteel area or Farazai area if you will.
That is I’m assuming you’re in Kosovo?
I was also in the 28th before I went active, C btry 107th FA out of Oil City.
