1/48 Nichimo Jake. Basic panel fading was done in stage 2, for stage 3 the model has been sealed with Future, the decals are applied and sealed again with Future. Now she cures for a day or two then we can move on to stage 4.
Looking mighty fine Swanny! Can’t say I’ve seen many 1/48 Jakes for some reason. Yours should look great when done!
Joe
That’s because only one company produces them, right Swanny?
Mr Jake is progressing nicely. There is something eyecatching about that green and yellow. It is so much more interesting than the shades of gray in modern combat birds.

Man that looks awesome. The Future coat went down very well. I just had some Future shenanigans this weekend and had to strip it all off. Yours looks great however. Thanks.
looks good Swanny! love the shading on the panels!!!
Looking good Swanny. Keep us posted.

What can I say? Excellent work again. It’s really a joy to see your stuff posted on these boards. It gives me something to work up to! [:D]
It always makes me uneasy, though, to mask off a bunch of clear parts (i.e., canopies) then proceed to put four or five coats of paint, future, clear coats, and flat coats and hope against hope nothing bleeds under! You have a perfect model, until you get rid of all the masks and- GAAHH! My worst nightmare. This just reminded me of that, for some reason.
That’s why you make sure you burnish the edges with a round toothpick and check again before you paint. Shooting the first coat as Future will help by sealing the edges of the tape.
Excellent work, Swanny! THe Jake looks fantastic…
Great work swanny, can’t wait to see it finished.

Yeah, my luck some paint or something would still find it’s way underneith. Thanks for the advice, though.
New to it…is there some how-to links somewhere I can paruse? Your stuff looks good.
I use the Future too.
Stage 4; the hinomarus have been faded with lightened red then the main spar lines were darkened with Tamiya X-19. Now she dries some more.
And my Fw-200 build makes headway - the canopy was attached and the wing seams filled.

Nice looking Jake there Swanny. I have to agree with Lucien that it is always a joy to see you work posted. Looking forward seeing more.
