Weathering/Fading Decals

I’m getting ready to start working on a North Africian GB F6A that will be very weathered. Does anyone know of a way to make the decals look ‘sun bleached’ or very faded, short of chalk pastels or overpainting? Would exposure to UV light work?

Nothing works better than the real thing.
put them in a bright sunny window for a few days until they reach the faded look your looking for.
