I see most, if not every model, picture, forum, etc, with weathering. Does anyone build models clean? Straight from the factory? I too weather or so attempt too, one of these years ill get it right, as practice makes perfect. I was just wondering is anyone builds models without weathering or should i go back to the newb bench? [:D] My final words are weathering is nice as it puts the models into perspective, or maybe this is just a rant of a modeler in training…lifetime training. Okay give it too me, let me hear it! [:P]
Out of the models I’ve completed in the last 12 months the ratio weather’d to clean is 5 : 7, the ratio with whats on my bench would be 2 : 2 with another two unknown yet.

Almost all of models are weathered, but then I have a few that are not. For example, I have a blue-angels F-18 and the Chinese F-7 that’s part of the Chinese demonstration team. These planes are kept really, really clean, so I don’t do anything much besides a wash to bring out some details.
