Another step way out of my comfort zone is underway and seek guidance.
While perhaps not the best place to post this, I ASS-U-ME’d this section would be best given what goes on here.
A search of the forum pulled up nothing and haven’t found anything to speak of regarding Mig “Slow River Waters” A.MIG-2204. The goal is to use this in lieu of resin.
Any experience with this particular product? If so, any recommendations for base colors? Also, suggestions for the algae would be appreciated having never attempted water so “still” and “colorful”.

I assume most acrylic gel media are pretty much the same. I get mine at a craft store like Michaels or HL. I buy brands by price- I have used three brands and they all worked the same.

You are looking at different materials; Acrylics like MiG or Future, and Epoxies like Envirocoat.
Be careful with Epoxies. They are exothermic and the heat produced will warp plastic if used in too great a quantity (at one time). Ask me how I know. Epoxies also shrink, giving the appearance of water flowing up hill or climbing up a tree trunk
One time I mixed about a half cup of epoxy in a four ounce paper cup. I got distracted for a couple of minutes and when I looked back at the cup it was smoking and charring. I had to run outside with it and dropped it to let it harden- waste of two ounces of epoxy!
