I use Tamiya arylic flat paint to paint my model.
my problem is water mark.
If I wash whole tank, that is not problem.
if I only wash single area. then there will be water mark around where I washed.
what do you use to avoid this probllem?
thanks,
I would use a Q-tip soak up the excess water before it dries.
If you painted the base and camo with acrylic, try giving it a wash with enamel and airbrush thinner for enamels. They generally dont react with each other. And soak up any excess by dabbing it vice wiping.
use thinner instead of water
Like goatmonkey said, use the Tamiya thinner instead of water. It tends to flow better. As for water marks, (I assume you are meaning when the water dries and leaves residual paint from the wash), use Pete’s idea and have some Q-tips or some paper towels around. I personally do not use the enamel wash or enamle paint, I do an acrylic wash over acrylic base and have no problems with the wash damaging the base coat. I do not spray anything over the base, either. It is just the regular flat paint.
you may wany to try a solution of artist oils and paint thinner it seems to work better than a water wash and it also flows better oncethe thinner dries the paint is left behind
thank you for advice,
men, I am going to use lots of thinner. because I am washing 1/16 rc tanks. they are big and use lot .
For acrylic washes you can use a few drops of liquid soap.
You can also try acrylic artists oils. These are just like oils but thinned and worked with water.
For enamels try to wash all over the surface with pure thinner and right on with your color wash. This will create softer wash
I’ve only recently tried this, and it works much better for local washes. Also, you’ll still have to soak up the excess, as it’s pretty impossible to eliminate water marks if you leave a lot of water there, duh [:D]
If you really want to use a water-based wash, try distilled water over a coat of future (w/drop of dish detergent added to wash solution ).
