Warsaw Weirdness Part 1

Absolutely nothing to do with modelling but funny just the same.
Last winter an old lady living near the Tatra mountains in the south of Poland was doing a good deed by feeding every day what she said was a poor hungry dog near her cottage.
After some weeks of buying scraps from the butcher she was told to contact the local animal welfare as winter was beginning to bite and it was not fair to see a dog out in such weather.
She duly did this and an inspector arrived to catch the dog to take it to a shelter.
After being gone for an hour the pale faced inspector arrived back at kindly old ladies cottage to very politely inform her that for the last six weeks she had been feeding a fully grown European Timber Wolf !!! Quite capable of chewing her leg off.
Wolves have been re-introduced to the Tatra and carpathian mountains and this one had obviously wandered off in search of a snack.

At least the wolf didn’t steal her shawl and disguise himself as grandma so he could eat her sweet grand daughter in the red outfit.

Might make a good watchdog. You know, to guard all of those model kits from thieves and such.

Poor lady doesn’t have anyone to talk to now…she probably enjoyed the time spent with the wolf…

Wolves aren’t dangerous alone really, and as far as I’ve been able to find out, there hasn’t been a verifiable account of a wolf attacking a person. There was an old lady that lived near me a few years ago when I was in Texas, she hand fed a 10 foot or so alligator, her “pet” chicken breasts every day. People are crazy. Wolves are beautiful animals.

I agree with madda, and hopefully the little old lady is still feeding her ‘poor hungry dog’.

At least the wolf kept the other really bad things in the woods away from her door !

I’ve heard that in Russia there have been a few cases of wild dogs adopting human orphan children.

There is an awful lot of wildlife in Poland. I agree that wolves are beautiful animals as well.I was always sorry to see the poor ones locked up in London zoo. I read in a Polish english language magazine a while ago that a party of Native Americans came to Poland to investigate the possibility of exporting some Buffalo which are native here back to the American Plains!!! Every little village has a telegraph pole with a platform on top for the storks to build their nests on.When they come back it means that winter is really over.

How did you guys manage to get buffalo in Poland? I’ve never heard about this before and am intrigued. We have them here you know, enough that they sell buffalo meat in the supermarkets. It’s good stuff too.

The tribes want to try and get back to the original breed of buffalo that wandered the plains. It seems that Polands buffalo’s are closer genetically to them than the ones you have now. So I have been told. They have always been here from prehistoric times! We also have wolves, bears and beavers!
