Yeah that’s true. Don’t they notice that he’s sending them DIFFERENT kit sthough? Obviously he’s not a horrible builder because they liked what he was sending.
Well, this is just wrong.
You have to be a very tacky individual to do the likes of this.
A half decent human would apologise, or at the very least ask permission to use Steves pics.
Steves pics aren’t subject to copyright and the fact they are on the web with free access makes them public domain.
Because of this any old fool can come along and claim them as his own.
Maybe if sites that hosted images etc placed a header stating use of images is subject to approval, then people like this Jeffrey guy could be stopped.
NO excuses though.
He is making fraudulent claims, and the bidder can refuse to purchase the item without any comeback what so ever.
I have sent links to this forum thread, the ARC link, and the link to the original photograph to the Security people at eBay, as well as an email containing the links to the individual currently bidding on the item. I have a fair amount of eBay experience (buying and selling), and I think this is the right thing to do.
Hopefully it will be dealt with appropriately.

Saw this on ARC and other forums today. I wonder if the buyers listed as winners in his other auctions are really “buyers”? There’s a possiblity that they may be straw buyers for this creep. Just a though…
I could understand perhaps using, and only with permission and proper acknowlegement, a photograph of a particularly cool build of an UNBUILT kit, in the box, that one might be trying to sell on ebay, but even then all of the aftermarket stuff generally used by so many modelers who post photos would render the photo an inaccurate representation of the model actually being sold. I think this seller is just cheesy, and pretty lame to think that no one would notice.
I heard that wolverines actually prefer mescaline.
We could make him eat an f 14 made of used cat litter.
maybe the guy just has a really, really bad camera…
just kidding
What a slime. Too bad it’s illegal to do what really needs to be done to this guy.
And still the auction continues on Ebay.
Shows you how much they care about the situation.
Not very much, eh?
Actually, you don’t have to have a trademark to be protected by a copyright. Any product is protected by copyright, that includes his model, and the pics of it. I’d imagine that his good feedback is a result of the buyer and seller being one and the same. The whole thing kind of reeks of fraud to me. If you’ll look, he’s taken about 5 or so other plane articles off of ARC and put the pics of them up as his own work. Pretty slimy.
Someone could always ask the moron to send them a pic of the model with some crossed spoons next to it or something along those lines. I mean if he has the ability to post the images to sell it , surely he has a camera to do that.
Well, I read that ARC forum thread earlier and the guy is not even denying that the pics are from the article anymore. He just says that he took them and can use them if he wants to because he found them. What’s amazing to me is the attitude this guy has after getting caught with this fraud. Astounding.
Steve’s images are not automatically copyrighted, or protected in any way whatsoever.
Because they have been placed on a website with no disclaimer, it is automatically assumed the images are available for PRIVATE use and viewing.
Morally (a word the legal system can not spell/understand) he is in the wrong, but practically, it is hard to prove anything other than fraudulent representation.
No matter what slant we put on it, the whole thing smacks of bs, and he should be hung, drawn and quarted.
Maybe diced, and fed to large goldfish…yeah…I like that[:)]

I thought of that too, but if you check the history of the winners of his auctions they seem to be real. There are 3 or 4 regulars who purchase his built kits, and they all seem to have great grammer…lol
Wow, he’s not even denying it?!! I might email him and give him a good cussing…[:D][:(!] What the hell is he thinking?!!
Yeah it is a real shame what some people try to do nowadays.
On the lighterside though it is a great looking build. Wish I could sell my built models for $217 plus dollars.
I E-mailed " r u a fraud?"
no… just kidding… but I do have an E-bay ID= zikkyboogydoog
i emailed him accusing him of plagiarism & told him how i knew he was plagiarizing other people’s pictures
Bidding on the plane is now up to $217.50, 11 bids, three bidders. I have sent the same email to all three bidders.
The pictures that “indohobbies” has included in his ebay ad are obviously the same ones as in the ARC posting. They have the same camera angles, same background, same shadows, same identifiable points on the model, etc, etc. I find it hard to believe that the buyer is not going to be upset when he gets something besides what is pictured in the ad. I hope he puts the payment in escrow so that he can get it back. Many of this guys feedback comments are from people who have sold to him, so they would be irrelevant to this situation. The “buyers” comments are from quite a few different people, so I suspect that they are legitimate, however only a few say anything aobut buying a built model. The rest just say they are pleased with whatever it is that they purchased. That doesn’t really tell you much.
Using the pictures of someone else’s model is very repugnent and at least morally, if not legally wrong. It is dishonest creeps like this that give ebay a bad name.

All the bids have been retracted. Some thing certainly smells fishy from the bidding point anyway, just to add to this blokes fraudulent activities.
cheers
