Warbirds in Woodland

There was a private party for WW II vets in Woodland today and these airplanes were around for that. The B-24 flew over my house earlier today, quite a lovely sound. Couldn’t get my schedule to fit around any flying shots. Note the P-51B is a 2 seater, a nice conversion. Had to take the second look for it to register. It has a full set of instruments in the rear.

Feel a bit guilty sending pictures with people in modern dress all around, but I didn’t have costumes for them and I didn’t know them all that well anyhow. I do like the look of the old brutes in the dirt and grass, though.

Thanks for posting,John. The same "birds"were at Stockton (about 30miles south of Sacramento) air port Friday and Saturday, but couldnt get there to see them. They had 1/2 hr rides but were very expensive. The bombers were around $450. The stang was a wopping $2500 for a1/2 hr and $3500 for an hour ride. To rich for my blood…Harv
