A friend of mine saw “Yellow Rose” up here in Spring (Houston) couple weeks ago. Yellow Rose is based in Galvaston I think. At least she’s there all the time. You should see all the warbirds here at the airshow in October.

There’s a B-25 down at San Martin that I pass every weekend to and fro from his house. It’s got a tarp over the nose. I need to take a mo’ and gp over and see it.
Shoulda said Life Members with a 2600-number or earlier… The yearly-members’ S/Ns that’re prior to the name-change would be in the high-23,000-line, Bondo… Mine was in the 21,000s (in 1985) before I became a life-member in 1996… Don’s was definitely “Old Guard”… Even if one drops out, then re-joins later, they keep the same S/N…

The B-25 with the Red Star is owned by Rob Lewis and is the former “Silver Lady”.

Both “Rose” and our P-39 are based in San Marcos… The CenTex guys have a really nice hangar there, and encourage volunteer… err… Visitors…

If you do, watch out for a crew-dog named “No-Neck”… He has a habit of tricking Nuggets to “pre-flight” the P-39’s “secondary pitot tube” by wrapping their lips around it and blowing air through it to “check the venturi back-pressure”…
It ain’t a “secondary pitot tube”… It’s the pilot’s relief tube…

My personal favorite when I was a Section Chief was to give my newest AIT grad a ball-peen hammer and have him walk around the track and check the armor for soft spots with it…
We like waiting for the rookie/preceptie to walk in front of the ambulance…and then hit the air horns!! Funny to see how far they jump.
