Waffen SS camo

Hello guys, anybody knows what collors I use for this Waffen SS camo?

A)

B)

check out model masters line of paints. i dont have anything right in front of me, but im sure that their selection will cover what you’re looking for. whatever people may say, due to the effects of the elements and how the soldier uses and treats his camo, the colors can vary. and you’re also looking at a slight scale difference, in terms of tone. my advice is to look for colors that look like those of the camo, maybe just a tade lighter for scale, but otherwise, you can’t really go wrong.

if this doesn’t help you tho, don’t worry, there’ll be somebody by soon, there always is, and they can tell you more than i. good luck!!

Thank you Gringe88…I´ll be waiting a little more…

Fabio,

Break it down into its basic parts.

a) has a khaki drab, light green dark green and black

b) looks like the khaki drab, a rust color and black.

I’ve seen this pea pattern painted with different colors on different figures, so I think the key would be to aproximate the effect, more than the color. Anthing you use that comes close to those pics will work.

Clorwise, just llojking at it I’d say a khaki or khaki drab for the base coat, a olive with yellow mixed in to match that bright or light geen. A Olive drab for the darker green and black. There area couple of ways to do it. you can paint base with the khaki and then paint a dark green and then lay the light green over the top, but not entirely covering the darker green so that it has the dark green surround. Or if you feel you have a staedy hand, use a fine brush and paint the light green first and with the fine brush paint a dark green surround.

Its laways difficult to paint light over dark, but I think if you mix up your paint good so that you get the pigment thorughout the paint, you can drop the spots over the darker color without a problem. You may have to go over it a couple of times, but I think that will help in the over all effect.

Hope it helps, its worked for me pretty well.

Thank you very much Renarts…I´ll try to paint in this colors…

Cheers…

I though i saw a book at my LHS showing ss uniforms and colors and markings for get the name but i am sure you can find it on the web.

Hello Fabio

Here are the paints youll need for the Waffen SS Camouflaged smock, its the usual oak leaf pattern (Spring/autum I guess)

A) Base Color: Flat Earth (Tamiya, humbrol, testors)
Color 1: Pale Green (testors/model master)
Color 2: Black Green (Tamiya xf-27, I don`t Know if humbrol or testors has it)
Color 3: Dark Green (Testors, humbrol, Tamiya )

B) Base: Same Flat Earth (I recommend Humbrol)
color 1 Sand yellow (tamiya, humbrol you`ll have to check out both paints and chose what you like it)
Color 2 You can use Khaki or Black Green (The darker the better)
Color 3 I would suggest you try Red brown (tamiya) or German camo red brown (humbrol)

I use enamels, I don`t like very much Acrylics I hope the whole paints are available in Brazil.

Regards and Good Luck¡¡

Thank you Vympel this information was valuable, happily here, in Brazil we have these paints. Currently the Tamiya acrilics is difficult to find, but the Humbrol it´s more easy to find.
Thanks to all friends

You can find the exact specification of Tamiya colour mixes for both the spring and autumnal oak leaf patterns on the back of the Tamiya ‘German Front Line Infantry’ box.

Hope I’ve helped,

Seb

That´s it…of course you helped me…
Thank you very much Crazy 995…
