WACO CG-4A "HADRIAN"

Does anyone know if a 1/35th scale kit of the WACO CG-4A “HADRIAN” Glider used in World War II has ever been issued? I’d like to work a diorama of a WACO unloading a Jeep from an airborne assault. I’d rather not have to start from scratch building a WACO but I suspect will happen.

Thanks.

There only appears to be the 1:72 by Italeri (see Hannnants web site - UK). I suppose it might be useful as a basis for the scratch built model - there are lots of straight lines of course and so not quite as bad as some could be. I would be interested in following your progress if you do decide to scratch build. It is not something I have tried in it’s entirety - only to modify, or make good the shortcomings of some kits. I thought I had a three view somewhere but seems not, alas!!

It’s tough enough to find a 1/48 scale version of one of those suckers. I think the largest scale you can get is a 1/48 vacuform version. Total missed opportunity if you ask me for plastic injection manufacturers. Italeri makes a 1/72 plastic version. I’ve got a couple 1/48 Willy’s Jeep kits and was planning on doing something similar at 1/48 scale but would like to wait for a plastic injection molded Hadrian.

Did I say this is a total subject oversight by manufacturers. You’d think after Saving Private Ryan they’d pick up on it.

While surfing the web I found a balsa kit of the Hadrian which was suitable for flying
or display. It has a 30" wingspan which scales out to a tiny bit over 1/35th (29.5xxx")
