Wacky builds / whatt if's !!!

I have 4 p-38 kits on the shelf along with 2 Glencoe ducks and a BF-109 that was just bagged (no box). So I had an idea!

This is the very fisrt stage of my idea. Everything is at fit mode and experimental stages. Next i will start drawing out further plans…

This will probally be a VERY long project.

HERE"S A SHORT VIDEO CLIP OF MY IDEAS

A float P-38?

May you should have a look at the what if GB that is about to start!

Wild, Weird, Wacky and Wonderful. I will be watching for future updates.

Same here!

I could post it to the ‘what if build’ when Im finnished, but this bird is going to need a lot of attention and time to get her done, so i dont think a GB would be a good place for this one.

I imagine she’ll take me at least a year if not more to complete.

Im already hosting a GB and i have a Ryan Darkshark on the bench. So Im quite busy at the moment. Good luck with your GB.

Does anyone have a spare belly turret or top turret from an old bomber kit? if so can you drop me a PM and perhaps we could arrange a deal to have it sent my way. [#toast]

thanks,

Kevin

Look up a guy who frequents these forums by the name of “Eddie Miller”.

He should be right up your alley. [;)]

my gawd, somebody else got outta their straight jacket!

Just kidd’n. A remarkable, crazy thing it will be! Go, man go!

Are you sure you aren’t Eddie Millers brother? [:D]

Thats just what i was going to suggest. Eddie is the Frankenstyrenemeister of the forum. And a genius with bondo.

…Guy

What’s an “Eddie Miller”? [:D]

This idea just hit me over the head one day while I was at work.

These kits have sat around for a few years collecting dust, so I decided to see what I could make of them.

I was never that fond of the old Revell P-38 kit, so I never touched it. But now Im hacking it to bits and I feel much better. [8D]

What can you say about the old “Glencoe Duck” kit? Man, what a tragedy that kit is. I have 2 so no problem hacking one to pieces.

I posted a short video about my ideas on this project. Any cool ideas are welcome.

For all that may be interested, here is the link.

Hey this is all kind of star warsesque! You know with the Sith. One’s the master and the other the apprentice…(with all do respect to the parties involved[:D]) This is another one to book mark!

Some progress pics fresh from the bench.

Bottom wing fit, cleaned up a bit. I still need to hack-away some plastic for the Bf109 fuselage to seat proper.

Bottom of wing.

Top.

BF109 wing root removed. THANK YOU DREMEL! [bow]

Glencoe has nothing for decking in the kit, I had to scratch. Some decking added.

Rear gunner turrett area cleaned up for fitting.

Last thing for today. Cleaned the cowling and removed wing root from pontoon.

Thats about all I had time for today. I need some spare parts bad. I think I’ll browse the bay and see what I can dig up. [:)]

Thanks Lucien,

I contacted Eddie, I’m hoping he can dig something up.

Thanks,

Kevin

I got your turret, monogram B-25(1/48), it’s already been painted, it’s no use to me out in the “boneyard”. Let me know.

This is a very good looking idea and the work is coming along very well [tup][#toast]

I would like to invite you post this project over at Whatifmodelers.com. There are lot of folks who would love to see! I’ve put the word out on the street in attempt to help find the parts you’re looking for. Maybe we’ll have some luck.[:)] Looking forward to your progress on this fine project!!

Hi Eddie,

Thanks for stopping in and taking a look and a BIG thanks on helping me track down the parts. I’ll take a look at the Whatifmodeler site. Thanks for the heads-up on that.

I dont have a lot of time to build, so I expect this project will take me some time. I’m also not the best painter but I do what I can. hopefully it will shape up into a passable build. [:)]

That"s great work!

I was going to invite you to whatifmodelers.com but Eddie beat me to it.

Very nice idea man, i have in mind to do something weird like this with my oldest kits!
