I cannot believe I missed that!
Most of my reading involves the European Theater, The Eastern Front being especially fascinating. I also like the “underdog” , or less used type aircraft. Do you have a recommendation for a Japanese aircraft? Not really wanting to do a Zero.
I did a P40 (flying tigers), working on a F4U-1 (Marines) now and a Revell P-61 or the Arma Russian P-39N in the stash. I should do a good Japanese Aircraft before tackling the Luftwaffe camo paint schemes since I am a newbie.
I haven’t seen many Japanese Betty bombers over the years, maybe that strikes your fancy?
Thank you GAF! I’m embarrassed to say that I forgot it. Back when I was teaching, I was the only teacher who brought up the importance of Dec. 7th and June 6th to my students.
September 2nd marks the anniversary of the signing of the unconditional surrender aboard the Missouri. I get chills every time I remember standing on the very spot aboard the ship.
My best friend went to see the USS Missouri in Pearl Harbor several years ago and he took the following pictures which he sent to me.
Those could be the pictures that I took while visiting. Such an awe-inspiring vessel with the greatest historical significance. I just watched a documentary about the ceremony on you tube: Surrender On The USS Missouri | Full Documentary It was good. Featured a lot of Vets telling their stories.
