Is there any way I could get vinyl tracks for Dragon’s Elefant and Hummel instead of those (insert four letter word here) indy tracks.

the only ones i know of are the Italeri Elefant kit
the Hummel might be easier as its Panzer 4 tracks. you could put out a shout for any tamiya tracks lying around spare?

Unfortunately, only thing I know is the Italeri kit that I have is vinyl, but I don’t know of any companies that make after market vinyl track kits [:D]
Aren’t the Hummel tracks extended versions compared to the standard P.IV ???

isn’t the elephant on a tiger hull? if so you can use tiger vinyls
Guess I should have explained what I was asking a little better.
If the Hummel uses extended tracks, the vinyl ones from the Panzer IV will not work because they will be too short.
The Elefant was based on the Porsche Tiger … the Italeri kit.
oh, so te Elefant tracks are the same as the Porsche Tiger’s, if so I’ll just have to build a trackless desrtoyed tiger
yes the Hummel used an extended body and the tracks would be longer than on the PZ 4, so with the gap they would leave you could try and fill the gap with the indy links or try and hide the gap with something else[:P]
Nope, they were built on a Porsche Tiger hull, not a Porsche Turreted tank.
I used Jaguar’s indy links on my DML Elefant. They went together easily and really look great. They are also, for AM indy links, fairly cheep.
Why don’t you want to use the DML Elefant links? They are some of the best DML has done, no ejector pin marks on them. Unfortunately, they are inaccurate, but if you aren’t a bolt counter or wanting to take it to a contest, probably no big deal!
Any judge I know will look at the tracks and ask: “Are they level? Are they aligned? Are there gaps between the links that don’t belong there? Are they well painted? Do they hang properly and make contact with the road wheels/return rollers?” I have never met a judge in over 20 years of judging who will take points off because you didn’t replace kit parts. The guy next to you make get extra credit for doing more (and doing it as well or better) than you did. Accuracy of tracks is not a basic criteria of judging. Quite simply, there are too many kits of too many prototypes to even begin to try to use that as criteria in judging. The demonstration of your skill as a builder/painter is want is being looked at, first and foremost.
I dont want to use them because they’re just a pain in the butt, thats all, they go together nicely though.
