Viking ship dio pics (somehow omitted attaching them to initial post of today)...sorry, guys.

Hey ?

Where’d the crew go ? You did a nice job on the weathering of that old wooden monster . T. B.

Thats a nice model, but that decal on the sail is a real hoot.

Very cool indeed!

Mighty nice rendition of a first-rate kit (though I have to agree with Mr. Morrison about that sail decal). The Revell Viking ship is one of my favorites. Here’s a thread about a model I built from it: cs.finescale.com/…/1701192.aspx

The kit scales out to about 1/64 scale. Emhar makes two sets of Vikings to go along with its own Gokstad Ship kit: one of Viking warriors on foot and one of oarsmen. Their scale is 1/64. [Later edit: that number is a typo. The scale of the Emhar figures is 1/72. I apologize; hope nobody was badly misled.] The math shows that they’d probably look reasonable on the Revell kit too - if you can find them.

What’s cool about FineScale is the diversity of modeling interests! Having just signed up recently with this online forum, I’ve already seen builds such as a tiny dirt excavator, a Vietnam-era diorama (with amazing detail), and now a Viking ship! For myself, this exposure serves to broaden the appreciation of all varieties of modeling, with the option of maybe trying some of these in the future (rather than limiting myself to a particular genre). To Iowahawkeye and every modeler on these forums, “OUTSTANDING!”

Amen to everything aWinterstale said! It’s a great hobby!
