All scales welcomed in production and out of production - along with any aftermarket accessories. Crossovers are fine as long as the build is in it’s very early stages.
Everyone is welcomed to participate and the main thing is to have fun…
I am also considering putting together a webpage devoted to this group build. The site will consist of your name and picture of your build. (Details later)
Additionally, the badge has been created and can only be displayed once you complete your build and at least one photo is posted of your model.
The badge will be updated shortly with the new completion date added.
I will begin posting names and kit info once they start to come in.
Thanks and best of luck all - I look forward to the 1st…
Only a month to bui.d? Now, if I was going for a classic revell/monogram Huey or Cobra kit, I could do it. But with today’s kits, that’s pushing it big time. You have to figure most, if not all of us have jobs and personal lives and dont get to model much during the week. I know our local IPMs club did a group build of AmTech P-40’s, ad we gave three months and people STILL couldnt finish them in time. My suggestion would be to extend the dates a bit. But thats just my opinion.
Oh, and your GB badge rocks!!! Really looks like an actual patch.
Ah, much better. Well, dont have the room to start the big Huey’s yet, but if its ok, I wouldnt mind building the Revell/monogram Huey Hog. 1/48th. Its an older kit, but I do believe it is still in production.
I’m sure you would find interest but you need to give people time to think of projects and time to get builds out of the way. I would have jumped in with something but I’ve already got a bunch of stuff going, I’d be lucky to get started by the time the build ended.
I think we ought to wait a bit for interest to build up, but even three is not a bad start. Not much seems to get done with the Viet Nam theme, but I think it is worth doing.
Not to mention the length of the build itself…I would venture to guess not many people could put out a build they would be happy with in just three months time
Don’t give up on the idea…it’s a fantasitic one. Vietnam was definately a Helicopter War of sorts. If you promote the idea a few months before the start, I would bet you’ll get at least 10 bites, which is a nice size for a GB…
Just my 2 cents, hopefully taken as encouragement.
