Vietnam Hueys?

I’m looking for some good veitnam Heuys.

If I’m not mistaken Panda Models just came out w/ one in 1/35. Its a UH-1D. Flaps up,Mike

Nate,

If you’re looking for short-cabin Hueys, (B&C model Gunships),
the MRC 1/35th ones can’t be beat. Great detail!

I would go with the MRC models. From what I hear, Panda’s Hueys didn’t turn out very well. But I don’t have first hand experience with them.

I’ll second the vote for the MRC kits, they make me wish that I built braille scale on a regular basis! [:p]

Fade to Black…

Brief plug: remember that our April Vietnam War special issue has an article by Paul Boyer about detailing a Huey. His was 1/72 scale, which results in a pretty small model. Imagine the detailing possibilities on a much larger 1/35 scale model…[:)]

Lawrence,
Great job by Paul. Now if we can just get him into 1/35th scale instead of 72nd.
Keep up the great work…
Paul

Dear HEUY

MRC is a winner for sure ,but check out Monogram’s 1/24 heuy .It has all kinds of
posibilities.Lots of stuff to highlight and lots of hatches to open to expose engine
and gearbox ,electronics, storage compartments ect. Real big makes it easy to work on and easy to add to. Lots of roomn to add wiring and hydrolics. At 1/24 scale you can cross over to car modeling detail acessories, and there is all kind of that stuff on the market. Have a good time with what ever you end up with.

Dave, I was just going to mention that. Imagine how that colorful shark’s mouth paint scheme would look on this huge 1:24 scale Huey!

FITTER out

The MRC is a superior kit to the Panda, unfortuneatly it’s a short cabin, guship version. Panda makes the more common long cabin “D” slick version. All we need now is a great set of figures to go with it beyond the crew set. DIORAMA CITY BABY!!!

DML does a 1/35 set of the 1st Air Cavalry that I have used in a LZ dio.
