Vertol H-21 "Shawnee"

Here is the finished 1/72 scale HobbyCraft model:

I used Tamiya paints and pastels on the decals to weather it up a bit.

Thanks for looking!
Dan

Woooah… the H-21 is looking GOOD!! [:)]

The only thing I’d mention is the forward Rotors: If you’re looking at the aircraft from above, the Forward rotors turn counter-clockwise, the Aft clockwise… see photo:

Beautiful job on the weathering and display, thanks! [:)]

Take care,
Frank

Thanks, Frank, for the kind comments and for pointing out the rotor problem!

Regards, Dan

Looks good!

Nice looking bird!

Frank,

Good eye for the detail!

Good looking CH-21

Last of the active duty CH-21’s, replaced by UH-1’s in late summer. We were told in UH-1 school that if we wanted to see one, we needed to good to the museum. .

That was a fun little kit as I recall. You did a real good job on it Dan.
IIRC, the instructions weren’t too clear on the rotors and I made the same mistake.

Very subtle weathering for a workhorse and a nice build over-all. But for a few years, I may have been stuck flying that beast. No offense, but over-lapping, inter- meshing rotors remind me of a mid-air waiting to happen. All you “Hook” and “Phrog” types have my undying admiration. [bow]

Thanks again everybody for the kind comments.

Wibhi2…you are right…the instructions showed both set of rotor blades the same way…I guess I should have done some research!

Regards, Dan

Awesome!
