Verlinden Heavy Machine Gun Bunker

I just purchased this product from verlinden. Very nice piece and will have fun displaying it once i figure a few things out with everyones help lol. First off this is my first bunker and i am unsure of what color to use on it. seeing it is concrete i am sure a light gray or similar color but not sure. the second thing is where ther is battle damage i wanted to place small metal bars as rebar showing through. does anyone know what diameter this should be and where i can get the product. and lastly has anyone used the verlinden photo etched barbed wire is it worth getting or should i try to creat my own ?? thanks forthe help all!

For pieces of rebar, I would use something like a small length cut from a paper clip. Exact scale would not be too important because you wouldn’t know exactly what size of rebar they used originally in the construction.
As for the VLS barbed wire, I have used it a couple of times in the past and am happy with the results. The barbed wire in the following pic is the verlinden product.

Paper clip idea is great. I think the type with the ridges would look about right.

thanks for th ideas guys and the ridged clips sound good will have to try them out

rebar sizes were 3/8 - 5/8 inch most common being 1/2 inch and were hooked on both ends. They ran in 3 dimensions to form cubes of 10 - 12 inch sides.

I have the same bunker and it is quite nice. With some creative fitting it came together quite nice. I’m still trying to pick out my colors. I figure small diameter brass rod could easily duplicate rebar. By the way… did your kit come with hooks for the camo netting?
I will be using Verlindens barbed wire for the first time on this kit, but I have used eduards BW in the past and loved it.
