Hi. I am building a AMT F-15C. I am putting together the air intake vents. I am looking at the instructions and I see where to put the variable intake vents but how do they go in so that you do not cover up the fan that is inside the housing? Or would it be better to leave those parts out so that you can see the fan? I’m not the best at detailing but I would like to be able to see the fan because I am painting according to the instructions and I am trying to do the best fit and finish that I can.
Thanks.
John
How you build it is up to you, John. If you are going for realism, I’m pretty sure that the real ones had both of them installed. [:)] Of course, you could always leave it off, scrounge up a couple of maintenance crewmen figures and have them busily replacing it. Or open up a couple of “Inspection Panels” that would let you see part of the engine. I always wind up doing a lot of detailing that never gets seen, but I know it’s there.
Hey starwars6651;
It depends on you but on the Fleagles when they are running on the ground the Inlets are pointed down, and when they flying then they will be up also if the engines are not running they go into the flight position ( UP ) like I said It’s up to how you want to show it and also when the pilot starts the engines the Left one is down and the Right one is up ( engine hasn’t started yet ) until the engine is at it’s correct RPM’s
