I’m going to do a Valentine for a change of pace and have been looking for some photo evidence of the blue/sand paint scheme on one. I haven’t had any luck so far. I’m beginning to think it was left to Matildas and Stuarts. Does anyone know if this scheme was used on Valentines? If so can you post a link with a photo or list a book I can check out?[:)]
I’m not sure, is this what youre looking for?
hmmm… I too can’t find photo evidence of the ‘Caunter’ scheme. I did find this though, that by March 1942 the overstriping had generally given way to overall light stone. So if you are modeling the Valentine during Operation Crusader (November '41) then it would be ok from a time frame perspective.
Steve,I to am working on a Valentine XI.All that I found was that during the Africa campains most Valentines up to the VI were painted sand with light pea and dark green patches. The other were painted like the above photo.Where as the X and XI were painted in a dark or eruo green for Normandy.Digger
Thanks y’all, Looks like sand and dark brown is the order of the day. Thanks for letting me know the name of the scheme too Jack. Always helps me to know what I’m talking about.[:D]
