I’ve always wondered about the vacuum formed canopies being larger than the real ones, because if the real ones were the perfect size, wouldn’t putting another layer of styrene over that perfect sized canopy create an oversized vac form canopy?
sorry if I sounded unclear… I don’t know any other way to put it.
If you formed it yourself i suppose it would be come to think of it, but most AM vacs use indpendent masters I believe. But vac forms are very thin, so the increase in size is probably negligible.
Tankmaster7 is correct. I’ve made quite a few canopies and they are negligibly larger but much clearer. As a part is formed, the plastic is stretched thinner.
