USS Duncan

Need help finding a kit of the USS Duncan DDR-874, Its a destroyer that patroled the N.Viet shores. My father was on it during this time so i figured i would build this for him. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dragon makes USS Gearing in 1/350, the lead ship of the class which Duncan belonged to. But you would have to modify this kit to represent her fit during Vietnam.

Contact Jon Warneke at Iron Shipwright (ironshipwrights.com). I believe he is working on a set of conversions for Gearings.

Lest you fear the cost of resin, the full-up (resin, PE, decal) destroyer kits are in the hundred to hundred-forty (MSRP) range. The MSRP of the Dragon Gearing is 50 plus and the PE from Gold Medal Models is 40. You are in the same price ballpark. You still need to scratchbuild the differences (styrene & refernces). How much is your time worth?
