All the pics from an open 5 inch mount on display at Veteran’s Memorial Museum in Chehalis, WA

WOW!!

I have to say that it a shame to leave it out in the open. Inevitably it’s going to get stripped of everything removable. It really needs to be put inside in a safe place.

Oh, man! I was just in that neck of the woods last October! Probably drove right by it! Too bad–would have loved to check that out.

Chris

It is in a fenced area ( 6 foot chain link and 3 strands of barb on top )and locked up when the museum is not open. Was closed when I stopped so had to get pics through the fence.

DP- as you are going through Chehalis it is on the south side of I-5 as you make the corner to head north out on the south end of town. You will see a big US flag and a Huey Cobra on a post mount.

The gun’s look like they are well maintained.

There is a good, dedicated crew at that museum, but the gun was on display in an unsecured location at the Museum of History & industry in Seattle for a good number of years, so parts may have “migrated” already.
