USMC M1A1HC, "Angry American" in-progress

Here is my latest. USMC M1A1HC “Angry American” from A Co, 1st Marine Tank Bn, in OIF 1. I will be using the Angry American markings from the Echelon sheet. I used the Academy M1A1 USMC Iraq hull, a DML turret, and parts from DML, Academy, Trumpeter, and Tamiya kits, along with some scratchbuilding to get what I wanted. I also put a full driver’s area and full turret interior, including lower basket with gunner’s station in it. Of course I forgot to take interior photos before closing it up. I have taken some through the hatches to show some of the details. Here it is.

Some of the interior shots:

Super job on the turret basket Gino. It’s shaping up to be a great looking build.

Its a beauty!
Xtremly nice interiors pics.
Is that a plastic mesh?
I recon there is quite some work hidden down there…
Are you waiting for metal tracks?

The mesh is Tule, Bridal Veil material. I will be adding DML indi-link track, just haven’t gotten that far yet.

As an aside, I think the metal tracks are a waste of money, especially on US and other modern vehicles with tight tracks. Kit tracks, or indi-link plastic ones look just fine to me when they are properly weathered and painted. Just my 2 cents.

It’s a mean machine. I can’t wait to see it finished. Do you have any dio plans?

Looks very good and great interior!

Great work, Gino!
Nice to see a non-sand Abrams for a change!

Impressive build. Nice camo. I agree with J-Hulk that camo vs. sand is a nice change of pace.

Really, Gino, your work is in a class all by itself. I use the work you share with us as motivation to improve my own skills and try new techniques. Thanks.
