I’ve just discovered that I cannot have my Revell TANEY kit finished as the OWASCO because the OWASCO was not the same class ship as the TANEY and now, I need to do it as the TANEY in 1944.
From the few photos that I have of the TANEY from that time frame, I’ve determined that she was armed with:
Four single 5-inch/38s in gunhouses
Six single 20-mm guns
As well as the obligatory depth charges
Would that be an accurate assessment?

she appears to have 8- 20mm AA. 2 on the front of the bridge, 2 on the back of the bridge, 2 just behind the stack & 2 between #3 mount & the previous 2- 20mm AA.
If you’re depicting the TANEY prior to October 1944, 4- five inch/38’s and 8-twenty mm (as the previous gentleman’s post mentioned) is correct. After October 1944 the TANEY was converted to an Amphibious Force Command Ship and was armed with 2- open mount five inch/38’s, 6- forty mm and 4- twenty mm guns. The Secretary class cutters were amazing ships serving actively in two wars spanning 50 years. It’s unfortunate these handsome vessels are pretty much over looked by naval historians and writers.
