Yes, strange idea, but I just thought some might be interested. I bought a USB rechargeable airbrush meant for cosmetic application on Aliexpress from China for $25 CDN. It has a double action standard airbrush screwed on top of a cylindrical mini air compressor that fits in the palm of your hand. It’s not as fine as an artist airbrush of course, but you know what? It’s good. For small jobs requiring wide coverage like priming a figure, it works perfectly, comes with three colour cups and clean up is a snap. For those who don’t want to get a compressor, this might be an idea.
Happy New ear to all!
That is a great idea. Think I will check that out.
I agree - I’m back at models after a hiatus to do a little thing like a career. I’m new to airbrushing and I received a similar type of airbrush as a gift and I’ve used it a couple of times for priming. It does a reasonable job, and I’m intend to use it more before deciding whether to invest in more expensive equipment.
Welcome aboard Roger @CorkyKahler and am glad that you’re back in the hobby again. LOTS has changed in the modeling world since even 5 years ago.
Looking forward to seeing your work.
@The_Emir_of_Schmoe : Thank you for starting this thread. I’m going to have to check into that. Nice for travel. lol
Thanks, Joe! I’ll post some pictures soon.
I have seen some of those models and I do question their durability long term. I do think a similarly sized compressor, the base part of these brushes, would make for a great item to have for travel uses though.
