USAAF impressed civillian planes painted?

I’ve been looking at some pics of some formerly civilian planes (i.e., Beech 17 Staggerwing, Stinson Reliant, and name a L-# Grasshopper [:D]) that were then impressed by the USAAF during WWII. Were all impressed planes given a new paint jobs while serving USAAF duty?

Most looked like they were painted green/OD, but I saw a white and red one, and few NMFs.

Good question. I couldn’t tell you, but wouldn’t mind knowing myself.

depending on what type of service they would be providing, and when they were impressed. the awnser varies alot. Many aircraft impressed at the beginning of the war were painted based on the missions they would be providing but as the war moved on and allies gained air supremecy in different areas paint became a cost and time issue and was skipped.

As I thought… “It depends”. [:D]

if the goverment took my plane of me in WW2
id want a Mustang, FW190D and a Tempest back at the end of the war
