Ive had alot of time w/ the end of the semester coming and my girlfriend just bought me a brandnew compressor for Christmas, so I thought I would test my skills at the preshading method on this kit since I have a better compressor. Ive added alot of brass and some resign parts to this one and more resign is to come, the bottom pic is the shading applied to the bottom coat of buff, i will add a few top coats followed by a wash and drybrush, tell me what you guys think and any suggestions to make it better.
Great work so far Jess. I’ve been thinking of trying some preshading on my next build, so I’ll be watching the progress of yours with interest. Good luck.

She’s coming along just fine. Hope to see more pics soon.
i dont have an airbrush, how would I go about doing that preshading with a brush?
Well I will be honest , It is hard to get the desired affect w/o an airbrush, a simple wash will do almost the same thing but an airbrush can help you create the Illusion of shadows and depth by lightly spraying on thin coats, I suggest looking into an airbrush if possible , www.greatmodels.com usually has a sale every once and awhile, also If you have a Micheals Craft store near you they usually carry the Badgers which I believe are the best and they usually have a 40% off coupon in their flyers , again a good wash can give you some depth , but to get the same affect as the preshading above I suggest an airbrush , good luck and happy modeling.
