This will probably be the last peek before I finish, just wanted to show the “concept” I’m heading toward. An eastern front Panther that has seen some action. For some reason I really like the track all over that turret. Still mulling over the finish, but I’m liking the “Wiking” schemes…Warsaw area late '44…
Looks great Steve! Luv them Panthers!! The zim job is sweet and I like how you left the cleaning rod tube open to display the tubes!! [tup] Are those Mori OVM tools or from another mfg? Also, any suggestions for a good set of German gas or water cans? I have none in my stash and want to add them to some builds.
Hey Buff, the tools are kit parts, PE is a mixture… kit, Aber and Eduard. The Gerry can is a leftover from my DML 231 Drilling kit. There are several sets out there, Tamiya, Academy etc, but the DML cans seem to have more detail.
MR : definitely looking at the Wiking cammo schemes…
Eric: thanks, having an issue with the paint not sticking to the “metal schurzen”, acrylic just “flakes off”, but I’ll figure it out…well, back to PE and the finish…
Steve this is looking stunning! Really, I’m lovin’ it big time![8D][tup][tup][tup]
Hey, did you lightly sand your PE with superfine sandpaper before assembling it? This will give you little grooves and microscopic imperfections in the surface that will hold the paint. I don’t think you’ll be able to do that now, but maybe with a small piece on a tweezers you might be able to get most of he surfaces? It looks like it’s ok in the photos there though…?
