Found this on Dragon’s site. I wonder if they will release more under this 20th Anniv. heading? There will still be the older versions for the purists. Odds are Dragon will have both with and without, since all of the zimmed German armor has been already released to my knowledge, sans zimmerit.
Anyone who is fearing the termination of un-zimmed kits needs to remember that it’s not like the Tiger I, II, Panther, StuGs, etc, were exclusively zimmerited in real life. There were clean tanks as well, of both early and late models, so Dragon would be fools to stop releasing them! New modellers enter the field every year and would want these kits in the stash.
This release looks like it’s gonna be AWESOME! My credit card is positively HUMMING!!![swg]
The possibility of 2 versions, one with zim and one without, would probably open up new avenues for kit sales provided that the costs of the different molds wasn’t exorbitant to allow for simultaneous production. Since it’s molded on, you would need different molds for the relative parts at a minimum, so my guess is they would likely release one or the other first and gauge success before releasing the other…pure speculation of course!
