Update HELLDIVER Finished(PICS)

Well here is the finished product Accurate Miniatures 1/48 helldiver it was a fun kit to do had to cut out the diveflaps so they would look right no washes or anything just a clean straight build let me know what you think and what i could have done better, this is a Chrismas Gift for my Ex-Girlfriends Father he was a navy guy hope he likes it.

Very nice! Thanks for sharing.

The Helldiver is so ugly that it’s beautiful IMHO. Nice job on yours. I think the Helldiver is so underrated that it’s nice to see some built. Good job.

IMHO I feel ya did a great job on this ugly duckling. I’m sure the intended recipient of it will appreciate it. Actually, those birds were quite dirty & oily…

Nice jobe smokinguns. Been debating picking one up. Guess I’ll do it you have inspired me. Joe

Great looking build mate, i love that tri colour navy scheme, well done[tup][tup][tup]

Beautiful job. A question, if I may. Would the 2 bombs be a normal bombload, or could there be a single, large bomb? I ask because I noticed that the Academy 1/72 Helldiver also comes with two bombs for the bombbay. I’m just wondering about options when I get that kit.

Nice build except for one thing, the landing gear needs a bit of straitening

I agree, fantastic job with the colors, etc., but as Jeebus pointed out, what’s with the right main wheel/landing strut?

As for weathering, I would leave it as-is with perhaps a little smudging at the exhaust outlets.

Meanwhile, I wish Hobby Lobby would get some of these as they did the A.M. Dauntless and Avenger kits.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice work on the Helldiver. Good clean build.

Regards, Rick

Beautiful work.

I have a question… not a critism… since I have this on my build list.

Are the dive breaks on the Helldiver supposed to have the holes through like the Dauntless? Should those have been drilled out using the PE as a guide?

Great looking build!! I just finished the ProModeler one which is basically the same thing and I can attest to having trouble with the gear struts as well-- it took a lot of fiddling to get them right- so I feel your pain there!!

The holes were open…and drilling them out was tedious work. I didn’t use the PE as a guide-- just a pin vise and a couple nights of drilling. Your paint job came out wonderfully-- great job bro!

also i must say it is very nice of you for doing this for the X’s father

being an x and all

Great looking Helldiver! Thanks for sharing…It’s nice to hear the AM kit is a clean build since I have one somewhere in queue.

Thank you all as for the landing gear shoot idont know what happened, as for the dive brakes ive seen pics with the hole going all the way through but i didnt know as for what models had had the holes in them so i just cut out the drive brakes from the wing and went for it thanks again for all your opinions.next up will be my Tbolt.

Another nice looking Helldiver. Though I’d of drilled out the holes in the dive brakes, but since it’s for your ex-girlfriends father, maybe not. She must be a pretty special ex-girlfriend or maybe her dad’s just a good guy. At any rate, this will be a nice gift. I really like how you did the display base, nice touch.

O.F.S. JOB on the helldiver i seriously hope santa brings the beast or (a.ka. son of @##$%^ 2nd class) a.m.’ s b-25b or both (wish wish please) thanx for the pics though ive been jonesing for info about this a/c thanx again DAVE!

Great job on the Helldiver. The finish came out very nice.
