It’s been eight months since my last update… My Peruvian T-55 project is still alive, and here’s the update:
Overview:
Some cast numbers were added to the cupolas. They were made from Tamiya sprues numbers:
The coaxial machine gun and gunner’s sight cover were made with plasticard:
The gun barrel was also detailed.
Another view… As you know the coaxial machine gun cover has also a canvas cover. It was made with epoxy putty, and it’s been pre-painted in the photo:
The gunner’s sight cover were also pre-painted:
It’s very difficult to match the exact colors for this camouflage… I’ve started with the exhaust. here’s something:
Al last, I’ve done this “plank” that must be just in front of the headlights:

Just for comparison… From top to bottom: My scratchbuilt part, the ESCI part, the Eduard photo-etched set part and finally the Tamiya part… You can see the diferences… My scratchbuilt part seems like this:
It’s a T-54, but Peruvian T-55’s have the same “plank”. A LOT of work is still needed, as I’m working with al ESCI T-55… I’m currently working on the fender stowage boxes, as they have almost no detail, and I have to scratchbuilt two of them… When all that is finished, you’ll have the pics in the forum.
