Unscribing from a thread- no longer works?

I have tried many times now clicking the “stop emailing replies to me” link, and the 'puter looks like it is doing something for about 10 seconds but nothing happens. It never changes to “send email notification”, and I keep on getting email notifications. Any ideas?
