I have a solid-color sheet that came by accident in a mail order shipment. Its from Tauro and it’s called “Anodized Steel”. Does anyone have any idea what use this can be put to? I’ve asked this before, but never got any replies. Also, I seem to have more trouble getting solid color sheets to stick after I’ve cut, say, strips for canopy frames or invasoin stripes. They tend to come up when dry or don’t stick to begin with. What’s the trick? These are Superscale sheets. I’ve had plenty of trouble with register and color accuracy with their sheets, but never getting them to settle down. They are very user friendly, thin, and fairly tough to boot.
They might make a good mask for something then eh? I could see how a decal sheet that would come back up might come in handy in certain situations. Just a guess though.
Solid Sheets tend to be a bit thicker and have more trouble settling down. If you have used micro-set and micro-sol to help settle them down and they still come up, then you probably do not have enough glue left on them. Make sure you do not let them soak too long in the water and make sure the water is not too hot. Then you sould use a very thinned mixture of water and elmers white glue to paint onto the surface where the decal is to go. Once it is down you can gently clean off excess residue with a damp cloth. When dry make sure you over coat it with a clear coat or Future floor wax. That is what has worked for me with old decals in the past. Good luck.
