Unit's History????

Do any of you all know a good site that tell the history of the USAF squadrons? I’m gonna build a model of an F-4G that was with the 90th TFS down at Clark AB, in the Phillipines, I also used to work on the ejection seats for the F-15E for the 90th in Alaska and i know that unit has alot of history and i was hoping to find information about what war’s they have been in and what airframes they have flown and hopefully some good pics of some of their planes, Any help i get would be appreciated thank you much.

Not sure if this will help but, their is a little bit of history from their beginnings up to now.

Here’s their history off their website…

The best place to find unit histories is on the AF website (www.af.mil) and look under “sites” and the bases/unit you are looking for.

BTW I was in the 90th working the F-4Es/Gs from 1987-1991. Most of my pictures were lost during MT. Pinatobo but if I can give any help I will. I have decal sheets with both the 3rd and 90th on they from the late 80s early 90s when we flew the gray scheme, what decals are you going to use?

First off thank you both dice and chopper fan both of those site were a hlep. As for the decals for this model i’m not sure yet, i was planning on building two different models with this airplane one what it looked like on active duty and one of what it looks like now as a drone, it’s kinda ratty looking now the paint is peeling and corrision has set in in some spots of it but it’s still an old war horse. I have some pictures of what it looks like now i’ll post some if you’d like and if i can figure out how to do it. Did you work on the F-4E/G’s down in Clark?

Thanks again,
PhantomPhixer

Yes I worked them twice at Clark, frist from 1981-1983 and came back again in 1987… left when Mt Pinitobo exploded destroing Clark. We had just gotten rid of the F-4s two week pry and were expecting out first F-15E within a few week but… of course that never happen…[V]

I worked on their ejection seats in there F-15E’s in alaska, did alot of TDY’s with them i’m not sure how they were at Clark but alaska they were all business.
