Hey, anyone know if that new 1/72 SpaceShipOne from Unicraft Models is any good? I am waiting for a review of the kit before I decide whether or not to consider it. Please give us updates about the kit as you guys find them. thanx[:D]
Haven’t heard anything on this kit but know others who have built their kits and they say the quality is pretty good.
I built it last August and it was good, although Igor makes no bones about his models being for experienced builders.
I recommend pinning everything together, otherwise the wing joints will fail. I used one 1/8 dia. brass wire in each wing butt joint and its quite strong despite the ungainly appearance of WK.
I put together some progress photos here, and a couple of finished photos.

I also rebuilt the landing gear using brass wire and aluminum tube. The resin is too brittle to trust not breaking.
Just thought I would share a pic I took last June during SpaceShipOne’s maden space flight. It was rather neat to see a part of history take place! [^]

Excellent - the first privately owned commercial spaceship - towed by a car !
Salvage 1, 21st century style .
I wonder if any of the “mainstream” companies will tackle this historic a/c?? - Calvin
They should! this is a very important aircraft. Revell did make the Breitling Balloon, so who knows…
Then again, how many “Spirit of St. Louis” kits are out there?
