What kind of tips? Are you asking about other UK hobby shops?
The only one in the UK I’ve heard of is Hannats, but then I’m on the other side of the pond. The US has several good online hobby shops. With the exchange rate like it is, you might get some good deals, though you would have to wait for your packages to arive.

Svenne: You could also try Howes of Oxford. They’re not just about model railways; they also do a fair bit of other hobby stuff.

I am also in the US, but I believe Squadron.com ships to the UK. The benefit of an on-line shop is that distance becomes meaningless. Again, like wdolson mentioned, you may have to wait slightly longer for the packages, but I can’t say enough good things about the support at Squadron. There are many other fine sites throughout this wonderful world of ours.

I don’t know of any right off the top of my head, but my suggestion would be to pick up a modeling magazine from the UK. I have a couple that they carry over here in bookstores. I think they are called Scale Aircraft Modeling. That would be a good source for online retailers. Good luck!

hobbins-models.co.uk (My LHS, based in Lincoln. Not a huge range but fair prices & free postage)
modelsforsale.com (based in Notts, large range of old & new kits, lots of special offers too)
So, if it’s kits you want, not just decals, resin bits etc, there’s a good choice. As was said before, get down to WHS & pick up Scale Aviation Modeller International or Scale Aircraft Modeller & check the ads in them. You may find a shop quite near to you.[:)]

Discount for online orders, free postage in UK, e-mail when it is despatched. Usually arrives 3 to 4 days after ordering.
Actually in Holland but have much more than Hannants and shorter delivery time. Postage (airmail) is same for all orders regardless of size (10 Euros I think).
